About Us

 Who we are

The Scotch Plains Fanwood Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) is a state-mandated, district-level, parent-driven group charged with providing input to the local school district on system-level challenges in Special Education and Related Services.

We are parents of students with IEP's and 504 plans, who understand the complexities of having students in Special Education. Our mission is to empower parents, caregivers, and guardians of children receiving special services, and be involved in advising the district (including but not limited to) on the following matters pertaining to the policies of:
  • programming
  • support services
  • health and safety practices affecting students receiving special services

We provide input, communicate and collaborate with the district in an effort to improve outcomes for students both in District and out of District.
