Hello SPFK12 SEPAG Families and Caregivers!
On Monday, October 7, 2024 at 7pm, the Scotch Plains Fanwood School District Special Education Parent Advisory Group (otherwise known as the SPF SEPAG) held its second meeting of the 2024-2025 school year at Terrill Middle School in the Media Center. The meeting's theme was post-high school planning, and we had two speakers, Timothy S. Pure, from the Montclair State University Disability Resource Center and Chris Loggia, from SPFHS's Guidance Office. The meeting was well attended, and meeting notes can be found here. On October 16, the NJ Office of Special Education published a guide helping to define the differences between In Class Resource and In Class Support. The guideline can be found here, along with other helpful information related to our children's Special Education needs and resources on the website. If you think this new guideline may impact your child's learning or IEP, contact your child's Child Study Team leader to discuss it.

The SEPAG liaisons for each school in the district are fellow caregivers that have volunteered to be the "eyes and ears" of your school regarding special services at your school, so please direct any issues or questions to them at the following emails, which are routinely monitored by the Board and the liaisons :

Our next monthly meeting will take place on November 11 2024, at 7pm, in person in the Terrill Middle School Media Center.
