Monday, Mar. 13th
- 10m, The ARC of NJ-Physical Therapy in School. Join every Monday at 10am on Facebook Live for a brief chat with Michael Pearson Jr., Director of Children's Advocacy at The Arc of New Jersey. Each week, Michael will discuss a topic related to special education and share helpful tips and resources for families. No registration is necessary, just visit the link above every Monday at 10am.
- 7pm-9pm, SPAN-Families, Schools & the Power of "We": This is an opportunity to meet virtually to exchange information and to discuss emerging topics and to learn about new initiatives.
Tuesday, Mar. 14th
- 11:30am & 6pm-Center for Parent Information and Resources-Proactive Crisis Planning for Children with Mental Health Challenges - Q & A Sessions: View a recording of the Proactive Crisis Planning for Children with Mental Health Challenges workshop, then join for a live Q&A session with a PACER Center children's mental health specialist.
Wednesday, Mar. 15th
- 4pm, Scotch Plains Library-Read with a Therapy Dog: Our a Therapy Animal Program is geared for students in grades K-5 who want to practice their reading skills! This program is ideal for not just emerging readers, but all readers!
- 7pm, BCSS Cape Center-Just the Basics: Guardianship for Individuals with Disabilities: Part 1. Ray Falcon, Esq., partner, Falcon Law Group will address the roles and responsibilities of being a guardian for an individual with developmental and/or other disabilities. This workshop will focus on the basics of guardianship.
- 7:15-9:45-The Westfield Parent Teacher Council Special Education Committee Presents:The 28th AnnualAwareness Expo (In person at Edison Intermediate School, 800 Rahway Avenue, Westfield, NJ). The Awareness Expo is open to the public and free of charge.
- 7:30pm, JCC of Central NJ-2023 Pre-Tax-Day Seminar with Liz Kinstlinger: Register here to learn about Tax Deductions and Credits for Special Needs Families.
Thursday, Mar. 16th
- 2pm, Center for Parent Information and Resources-The Rights and Responsibilities of Students and The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- 6:00pm-8pm, SPFHS Mental Health and Wellness Fair: "Educate yourself on mental health topics and learn more about how you can help the young people in your life." Pre-registration is appreciated. Fill out the RSVP form attached to the QR code on the Flyer.
Friday Mar. 17th
- Register by 3/17-Sight Unseen Exhibit at Kean University -Sight Unseen presents work by the world's most accomplished blind photographers as they explore ideas about the nature of seeing. Great art, it has been said, is not a product of the eyes, but of the mind.
