Monday, Dec. 11th

10am-The Arc of NJ- Mondays With Michael (FB live)-Making the Most of Your IFSP. Mondays with Michael is a Facebook Live series that addresses individual topics related to special education. Episodes take place every Monday at 10am during the school year and feature a 10-15 minute discussion with The Arc of New Jersey's Director of Children's Advocacy, Michael Pearson Jr

7:30pm-The Arc of NJ-Preparing To Get The Most Out Of Your High School Experience. As a parent, you want to help your child make choices that are best for his or her needs. This workshop will explain the role your school district will play in the transition process and how you can prepare your child for adult life.


Tuesday, Dec. 12th

12pm-SPAN-Paperwork for Families

7pm-SPAN-Is Eyegaze Technology For You? This training will provide information, tips and tricks on this Assistive Technology.


Wednesday, Dec. 13th

1pm-Center for Parent Information and Resources-Assistive Technology for Early Learning. Topics include apps and websites that facilitate early learning, toy/book adaptations, low tech items, early AAC, and much more.

2pm-Center for Parent Information and Resources-Finding Balance: Navigating the Maze of School Stress. School can be stressful for many reasons, but stress can be reduced with tools and support. This workshop focuses on tips, tools, and supports that can help decrease school-based stress and anxiety.

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) Network is a project of the New Jersey Department of Education, Office of Special Education funded through IDEA Part B funds. The materials and resources at the LRC's are provided to support the education of students with disabilities, helping them to succeed and to achieve in the least restrictive environment. The LRC shares the following information for the month of December and Universal Human Rights Month:


The United Nations observes Human Rights Day on December 10th. The 2022 celebration will launch a year-long campaign showcasing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by focusing on its legacy, relevance, and activism in preparation for the UDHR's 75th anniversary in 2023. Check out how people around the world are recognizing the importance of universal human rights by using hashtags #HumanRightsDay and #Standup4humanrights.
